They are not very impressive in anyway

I've dailyed a C300 of the same generation before

so this could only be slightly worse

What are the prices on these looking like?

they are pretty comfortable, but just get a C350. The 250 is just so anemic.

Better yet... c63!!

Just get an Accord coupe instead.

how so? I wouldn't be buying it for its performance.., just comfort and economy (which is a word I use loosely because virtually anything is better than my Jeep)

Well it's fine in comfort, but fuel economy is less than stellar. 18 mpg from the V6, highway miles only. I'd rather an E90. It's just as comfortable but just better in every other aspect.

here I wrote this a long time ago http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/bmw-328i-xdriv…

Of course I want a C63... or even the 350, but I only want this as a dd for comfort and economy so the 4 banger would be the optimal choice at 24 / 31 mpg (so realistically 20 / 28, which is still better than the 12 / 15 I am getting in the Jeep...)

I've noticed that these are reasonably priced for what they are. I've considered one but I think I'm going to go with a bimmer instead.

And I'm thinking of going with an Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan. Scared of the BMW reliability woes. But maybe a 328i could work. Definitely more reliable than the 335i.

haha, you could do better in a 428i (4cylinder turbo>slow v6). Gets 35 mpg on the highway I believe.

That era C-class isn't really that great. Comfortable and decently good looking, sure. So boring to drive though.

I would buy it, if that means anything, it's a nice looking car. That red leather is pretty nice too.

'12 and up are much better than previous years as far as 204's are concerned, completely different engines. Personally I'd rather have a 250 than 300/350. That turbo does quite a nice job, gives the car more personality than the V6 versions. Honestly my biggest complaint about these is dash rattles, but warranty will take care of those. It's certainly not the most exciting car, but it does a good job of being a nice DD with the ability to have some fun. Turn off ESP and you can go sideways quite easily.

The facelifted versions are almost completely different cars compared to the one you had. Completely different and nicer interior, completely new and better engines, even lighting is much better. The m272 that was in yours is easily one of my least favorite Mercedes engines in the last 25 years. That's not to say they're bad, they're just so beige. Pre-facelift 204's also have one of the cheaper feeling, least inspiring, dashes that Mercedes has come out with in a while. Again, not bad, just a bit beige. Facelift was a huge improvement.

If you do, go for RWD. I found the AWD version to be underwhelming and downright boring. I mean it handled well and wasn't exactly slow, just didn't have the personality I would want from a car like that. RWD is much more betterer in this car.

Only up to '10 I think, no coupe, only C300. I think. Don't know about markets aside from US.

Running lights can go either way. Easiest way to tell is by the headlights and nav screen. Your headlights would have had the little eyebrow looking parking light strip across the top, unlike the one above. Yours would have had a flip up or hidden screen, but the one above is recessed. Hopefully that helps and makes sense. Even though it's almost entirely useless information for anyone who isn't me.

Hmm, interesting. I could certainly be wrong, that's not the kind of thing I really pay attention to because I'm not in sales. But I've never seen one newer than '10 with a stick. I know places that aren't the US can get sticks in a lot of cars, though.
